Innovative Approaches to Care: Valley View blends the need for a structured, stable environment with individual needs to promote an atmosphere of belonging through resident centered care. The uniqueness of each resident is respected when developing a plan addressing life's daily challenges. At Valley View, we are committed to the Culture Change methodology. We provide extended dining hours with multiple dining styles and choices, alternate bathing choices, and once a month the “Valley Shack” opens its doors for a night “out at the bar” with non-alcoholic drinks, music and dancing. Our Culture Change vision is to provide an environment where people enjoy freedom of spirit and opportunities to grow and flourish! We have a care available for any staff to take residents into the community individually or in small groups for shopping, a cup of coffee or just go for a drive.
Community Involvement: Ongoing involvement with community churches; Volunteers; Colorado Health Care Association; Colorado Culture Change Coalition; Ombudsman support
Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation Services provided through Genesis Rehab
Valley View features restaurant-style seating and open dining throughout the day. Most meals are cooked to order and snacks are available all day and into early evening.
Residents are encouraged to decorate their own rooms with personal belongings. This helps to create a comfortable, home-like environment that has proven to be therapeutic.
Valley View features a wide variety of activities to keep residents active, stimulated and spiritually satisfied. Once a month, the living room is transformed into “Valley Flick,” which opens its doors for a night at the movies—complete with tickets and a concession stand! There are summertime camping trips with tents, sleeping bags and hay rides. Restaurant outings, movies, bowling, playing pool and trips to Cripple Creek are also on the calendar!
